Before I came to Ambassador, I never knew such a place existed. I am very thankful that when God called me to preach, he called me to a place to prepare! Ambassador is truly a God-centered institution. From the very first day, the principle has been set forth: “This is God’s school!” I appreciate the emphasis on conforming to the Lord Jesus Christ and not to the standards of mere men.

When God called me to preach I had no idea what it would take to be an effective communicator. I still lack much in this area, but through the practical training at Ambassador, I have learned countless principles on how to be a more effective mouthpiece for Jesus Christ.

There are countless other blessings. I’ve had the privilege of hearing some of the most godly men come and preach in chapel. I’ve had the opportunity to fellowship with some of the most godly Christians. I even met my wonderful, godly wife here at ABC! I will forever be indebted to the ministry of Ambassador Baptist College.

One of the first things that I noticed about Ambassador is the family-like atmosphere. Everybody knows everybody, and the friends that you make are lifelong, genuine friends with a desire to serve the Lord. Dr. Comfort always says that no one is superior here, and that standard is lived out at this school. I love the fact that your teachers will eat lunch with you and that they have an open-door policy. It has really been a blessing and an encouragement to me just to be able to talk with the faculty at anytime. They are always there to help and encourage you.

Another thing that stands out at Ambassador is the focus on God’s Word. I have never been in a place where God’s Word is at the heart of everything that is said and done. Be it in the chapel messages, the classroom lectures, or even in studying the Bible for a paper, the Lord has taught me much in the past four years about keeping Him at the center of my life. The daily routine has helped me become disciplined in reading my Bible and keeping my priorities in the right order. I have learned to truly be a better Christian for the Lord since being at school. Being here has taught me what ministry really is and what it means to be a servant. I praise the Lord for a school like ABC whose focus is to train men and women to serve and live for Jesus Christ.

We all have dreams. Some are “big” and some are “small,” but each in its own individual way seems impossible. Thanks be to God that He delights in doing the impossible! My contact with Ambassador Baptist College throughout the years has been through many different avenues. My first encounter was filled with anticipation as I heard much from other people and wanted to see the school for myself. It was not the first time I would be impressed with the student body and faculty.

As the years moved on, I got asked the question: “Why do you want to go to Bible college?” My answer was simple—to train for the ministry to which God has called me. Although I was older, and had some hands-on training, I still had a desire to be prepared academically. Training for the ministry meant I believed in what the college taught doctrinally, musically, and philosophically. At this time, I’d been thinking about going to another college, but once again, the Lord intervened, and I visited Ambassador for the second time. Again, the Lord used the friendliness of the student body and faculty in such a way that I knew that is where the Lord wanted me to be.

My dream was Ambassador, and although it seemed impossible for that desire to ever come true, as I committed my works to the Lord, He established my goings. The Lord always led me back to this place that is giving me a burning passion to see others changed for the glory of God.

There are two things that stand out in my mind about ABC: the experience of the faculty and the attitude of the students. There is a deep well of experience among the faculty and staff at this college. I have learned a lot, yes, about the Bible, but I have also learned practical things that I know I will face some day in the ministry. These professors have been in the ministry for years, and they have experienced the problems that I will face. It is great to sit down in the classroom and glean from the experiential knowledge that they have. The other thing that I appreciate at Ambassador is the atmosphere and the attitude of my fellow students. The student body truly has a heart to serve God.

Chapel is the most important time of the day at Ambassador, partly because of the attitude of the students and their readiness to hear the preaching of God’s Word. This school is a very unique school, and it holds a very special place in my heart.

Ambassador Baptist College is a Bible college. That is all we do. We just try to train men for the full-time vocational ministry and young ladies to be the wives of those men. This makes it so easy for me personally to teach at Ambassador, because I know that every one of my students is intent on going into full-time ministry. The students encourage each other in this, and that in turn encourages me. It is like being in the middle of revival all the time. I am so thankful to actually be around such students and faculty.

God has taught me so many things while being here at Ambassador, but one of the things I am constantly reminded of, whether in the classroom or in chapel, is the constant emphasis on God’s Word. When I came to school here God’s Word was nothing more than just a Book. But, after being here only a short time and seeing and hearing how important it was for me to have a daily walk with God, the Bible became more than just a Book. It has become real and personal to me.

I am very thankful for the emphasis Ambassador Baptist College has on the Bible. I now desire the Word of the Lord daily and want to constantly surround myself with it.

I set foot on Ambassdor’s campus in August of 2005. Immediately, I knew this place was not just another geographic location. Even though I was coming here for a one-year Bible Certificate, I had a feeling I would be here longer. During the first week of opening revival, I made some major changes and confessed some sins in my life. One week later, I was called to preach. From that time, Ambassador has continued to be a major piece in God’s plan of changing me to be like Christ. Sitting under the teaching and preaching of the Bible each day is a continual challenge to live a holy life that pleases God. The chapel hour continually confronts me with the truth found in God’s Word. One major thing I love about Ambassador is its stand on the Bible. You can expect to hear it plainly preached from the platform and taught in class. Ambassador is not a place where personal preferences or personal standards are emphasized, but rather the truths and principles from God’s Word. When the Bible gives a standard, we are expected to measure up to it.

Another major thing about Ambassador is the faculty. The faculty members are student-minded. They love us, not just as a group, but also as individuals! They are happy to talk with us in passing or in the privacy of their offices. Their ministry experience is invaluable, and they are open to our questions.

A vital part of Ambassador is the student body. As a whole, Ambassador students are striving to grow in Christ, serving in their local churches, and (of course!) studying for ministry. Being around other like-minded and ministry-focused people helps me keep my own focus for ministry.

Ambassador Baptist College cannot be fully explained in these short sentences, but the three biggest elements that make Ambassador what it is are its commitment to the Bible, a loving and experienced faculty, and the ministry-focused student body.
