“Now then, we are Ambassadors for Christ…” 2 Cor. 5:20
The ancient landmark of Scripture stood as a definitive testimony to the inheritance passed down from one generation to the next. It was sacred, for it revealed the bounty the Lord had given to the patriarchs of God’s people. Each descendant was given the command to “Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set.” Our desire at Ambassador Baptist College is to heed that command.
In the summer of 1989, the first Landmark Conference was held to set the tone for Ambassador Baptist College. It was the first public meeting in the history of the school and was designed to cast the die for Ambassador’s focus and future. All the preachers at that meeting had been in the ministry for 50 years or more. The message was sent that Ambassador would be a preacher-training institution following the old paths.
Now, over two decades later, we seek to send exactly the same message. Our purpose has not changed, and the need could not be greater. On July 16–20, 2012, Ambassador Baptist College will host our annual “Remove Not the Ancient Landmark” conference. Evangelist Morris Gleiser, Evangelist Dave Cajiuat, and Pastor Mike West will be preaching.
