History of Fundamentalism

4.0 Credit Hours

History of Fundamentalism studies the history of the movement called Fundamentalism and the history of independent Baptist churches and associations. This course covers approximately 1875 A.D. to the present and focuses primarily on the development and distinctives of various fundamental Baptist groups.

Ministry Philosophy and Ethics

4.0 Credit Hours

Practical training in the areas of interpersonal and inter-ministry relationships, with specialized emphases for the specific ministries of pastors, missionaries, and evangelists.

Ministerial Counseling

4.0 Credit Hours

Advanced training in the counseling ministry, with emphasis on such oft-encountered problems as addictions, family difficulties, and financial needs.

Advanced Apologetics

4.0 Credit Hours

An examination of the dominant philosophies of the world, with a corresponding defense of the Christian worldview.

Advanced Church Administration

4.0 Credit Hours

A course designed primarily for local church pastors and assistant pastors, with emphases on local church music, missions, finances, and Christian school and youth ministries.

Missiological Concepts and Applications

4.0 Credit Hours

A study of the history, biblical basis, purpose, and procedures of effectively planning churches worldwide. This course will compare church planting principles in the United States with those in other countries. Various steps to be taken to establish a church from the opening evangelistic approach through the growth process to the establishing of an indigenous church will be carefully studied in a practical way.

Evangelism and Revival Theology

4.0 Credit Hours

This course endeavors to give the theological and historical ramifications of revival. It will also present practical means to be employed by the God-called evangelist in his pursuit to be used of God in seeing revival in local churches.

Applied Theology

3.0 Credit Hours

Practical applications of Biblical truth in such areas as spiritual gifts, separation, and other practical matters.

Advanced Preaching Concepts

4.0 Credit Hours

Advanced instruction in sermon preparation and delivery. Each student will be given the opportunity to develop an exhaustive series of sermons for a particular book or topic of the Bible.

Master’s Research Project

4.0 Credit Hours

The research project should be of a practical nature, with the student proposing a program or series of studies that could actually be used at the local church level. It might be lessons for Sunday School classes, special emphasis retreats, missions conferences, camp ministries, etc. Or it might be a program of procedures for a certain aspect of local church ministry, whether it be bus ministry, finances, teacher training, soul-winning, etc. In all cases, the student must submit a proposal to the academic committee of Ambassador Baptist College for approval prior to writing the project. The project does not need to follow the thesis guide form but must still be well-written.
