CE 401.3
Philosophy of Christian Education
3.0 Credit Hours
This course is designed to communicate discipleship in the home, in the church, and in the school. A philosophy, a history, and technique are covered using both theoretical and practical approaches to Christian Education. This course will cover everything from a church nursery, Sunday School, Junior Church, and mid-week children’s program to the local church Christian school and the role of the local church in the life of home schooling. Everything from writing curriculum to effective communication is covered. Same as ED 205.3.

Christian School Administration
2.0 Credit Hours
Emphasizes a distinctly Christian school management philosophy. This course provides basic principles of educational leadership for Christian school administrators, principals, and others in administrative positions. Practical instruction is given in the areas of sound financial management, personnel practices, and supervision of instruction, as well as parental, pastoral, and pupil relationships.

Christian Education of Adults
3.0 Credit Hours
The characteristics and educational needs of adults are studied, including methods for instruction, discipling, and spiritual growth of adult Christians in the local church.
CE 408.2
The Assistant Pastor
2.0 Credit Hours
A study of the Biblical role of a “Joshua.” An investigation of the process from candidating, serving, dealing with differences, and changing fields of service. Attention will be given to the Biblical understanding of an assistant.
CE 410.3
History of Fundamentalism
3.0 Credit Hours
History of Fundamentalism studies the history of the movement called Fundamentalism and the history of independent Baptist churches and associations. This course covers approximately 1875 A.D. to the present and focuses primarily on the development and distinctives of various fundamental Baptist groups.

Education of the Child
3.0 Credit Hours
An investigation of the characteristics of the child with an emphasis on materials, methods, and agencies which can be used by churches to lead the child to salvation and spiritual development. Mention is made of the home schooling of children.
CE 502.3
Teaching Techniques
3.0 Credit Hours
A study of principles basic to Christian teaching, including lesson plans, audiovisual techniques, and the organization and management of materials for effective classroom presentation.
CE 506.3
Baptist History and Distinctives
3.0 Credit Hours
A survey of the local New Testament church, identifying various groups leading up to the Anabaptists and to Baptist churches today. Baptist heritage, distinctives, and polity are included.
CE 510.3
Youth Ministries I
3.0 Credit Hours
An intensive study of the history of youth ministry and the developmental characteristics of the adolescent. An examination of philosophy (including the effects of Christian schools and home schools on the church), principles, methods, and materials useful in the training of adolescents, as well as the important role of the local-church, Bible-centered, Christian-service-oriented youth program.
CE 512.2
Youth Ministries II
2.0 Credit Hours
A concentration on the implementation of a youth program, including preaching, teaching, evangelistic outreach, and public-school adolescents. Emphasis will be given to practical projects of learning, including calendar and budget planning, games, retreats, and activities. Pre-requisite CE 310.3 or CE 510.3.
