GE 201.2
Office Practices, Procedures, and Equipment I
2.0 Credit Hours
Training designed to enable a secretary to operate a highly efficient, productive church office. Office ethics, duties, dress, etc. appropriate in a church or Christian school office are presented, along with instruction and drill in the operation of basic business machines. Pre-requisite: GE 105.2 or equivalent.

Office Publications
2.0 Credit Hours
A course designed to provide basic instruction in creating office publications such as slideshows, bulletins, flyers, and basic desktop publishing. Upon completion, students should be able to create and produce professional business publications. Course fee required. Pre-requisite: GE 108.3 or equivalent.
GE 204.2
Database
2.0 Credit Hours
A course providing detailed instruction in the principles and use of relational database management. The student will learn to design, record, organize, and retrieve data. Emphasis will be placed on the application of database management in the operation of the local church ministry. Pre-requisite: GE 108.3 or equivalent. Course fee required.
GE 208.2
Spreadsheets
2.0 Credit Hours
A course providing detailed instruction in the principles of electronic spreadsheets. The student will learn about designing and building mathematical spreadsheets and data query requests, creating graphs, and printing. Emphasis will be placed on the application of spreadsheets in the operation of the local church ministry. Pre-requisite: GE 108.3 or equivalent. Course fee required.

Speech
3.0 Credit Hours
A study of the basic principles and techniques of public speaking, including the preparation and delivery of various types of speeches.
GE 501.2
Thesis Writing
2.0 Credit Hours
A course introducing the writing of a thesis. This course is intended to guide the student through the thesis-writing project. The thesis must be at least 100 double-spaced, typewritten pages in length. It must be completed in accordance with the schedule included with the syllabus for the class and must be completed before graduation. The topic must be in the area of the student’s chosen major. In the case of the Missions major, the thesis will be a study in a chosen subject area, country, people group, or type of work related to the student’s cross-cultural ministry. The grade for the completed thesis will be the student’s grade for this course.

Introduction to Missions
2.0 Credit Hours
A presentation of modern missions, intended to prepare those majoring in missions for further study and service, while challenging others to become more involved in the Great Commission both at home and abroad.
MI 102.2
Theology of Missions
2.0 Credit Hours
An overview of the Biblical teaching regarding missions from Genesis to Revelation. Consideration will be given to particular issues and current trends facing missionaries today, contrasting God’s design for reconciliation with man’s theological solutions. This course will encompass an analytical study of the Biblical teaching of missions. A contrast will be noted with the unbiblical trends and ideas current in our day.

Missionary History
2.0 Credit Hours
Significant movements and men from apostolic days to the present are studied in order to evaluate the progress of Christian missions in all the major mission fields of the world.
