Missionary Ethics and Relationships
2.0 Credit Hours
A study of the basic principles that should govern missionary relationships with family, churches, pastors, mission agencies, governments, national pastors, and fellow missionaries.

Ambassador College Chorale
0.25 Credit Hour
This group of selected students will have the privilege of ministering for chapel, special conferences, and programs. ¼ elective credit per semester, to a maximum of 2 hours.

Voice Class I
1.0 Credit Hour
These classes are arranged according to demand. Material studied will be adapted to the student’s individual needs. Foundational instruction in correct posture, breathing and tone production, vocalizes for good vocal health, diction, and phrasing. Platform deportment and ministry focus with emphasis on sacred vocal literature.

Fundamentals of Music
2.0 Credit Hours
A course designed to introduce the student to the basic fundamental mechanics of music. Through the knowledge gained and the appreciation fostered, the student can enjoy music by participating to one degree or another in that art. This course is also offered to those students who wish to enter the music major program but whose skills are not sufficient to take MU 111.3. Hours do not count towards graduation.

Fundamentals of Music
2.0 Credit Hours
A course designed to introduce the student to the basic fundamental mechanics of music. Through the knowledge gained and the appreciation fostered, the student can enjoy music by participating to one degree or another in that art. This course is also offered to those students who wish to enter the music major program but whose skills are not sufficient to take MU 111.3. Hours do not count towards graduation.

Ambassador Mixed Vocal Ensemble
0.25 Credit Hour
The students who comprise this group will be chosen primarily from the college chorale based on their Christian testimony and leadership, vocal development through voice lessons, and the desire to represent the College. They will provide a campus ministry as well as traveling to various churches in a musical ministry. ¼ elective credit per semester, to a maximum of 2 hours.

Music Theory I
3.0 Credit Hours
An accelerated review of music fundamentals. Introduction to tonality, including part-writing, voice leading, and in-depth discussion of tonic and dominant functions. Second semester continues study of tonality from harmonic and linear perspectives, including pre-dominant functions, the phrase model, and common diatonic harmonic functions. Introduction to phrase-level form, sequences and chromaticism (applied dominants and tonicization). Integrated approach includes analysis, writing, sight-singing, listening, ear training, and dictation. Pre-requisite: MU 104.2 or successful completion of qualifying entrance exam.

Ambassador Handbell Ensemble
0.25 Credit Hour
Members of this group are given instruction and practice techniques so that students can gain confidence as handbell ringers through the preparation of standard handbell literature for 2-, 3-, and 4- octave bell choirs. Much of their ministry will be on campus with an occasional trip to local churches in the area. This group also provides a model for those who will go on to develop a handbell ensemble in their own local church ministries. ¼ elective credit per semester, to a maximum of 2 hours.
