On February 25th, Dr. Gene Lasley went home to be with the Lord. He was the long-time pastor of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, TN and was the namesake of the Lasley Residence Hall on our campus. Brother Lasley was a strong Bible preacher who loved the souls of men. We named a dormitory after him with the hopes that it would be filled with men who had his calling and tenacity.
We remember him for his ministry at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church and his support of Ambassador Baptist College. As a long-time board member, he preached and taught many times on our campus. He was known for his love and use of Sunday school to build the church. Dr. Lasley emphasized the fundamentals of the faith and encouraged the men to be willing to pay the price for them.
Please pray for the family and for the congregation of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. They have lost a great man who loved hunting dogs and could put the truth on the bottom shelf, but Heaven gained another servant washed in the blood of the Lamb. Our prayer is that many more men would come to ABC and live in Lasley Hall with the calling and the burden that was upon Gene Lasley.
