Every Christian should be active in missions. Christians are to pray, give, and go for the sake of the Gospel. The college will be hosting its annual missions conference October 27-31 to promote world evangelization.
Missionary Leland Johnson is the keynote speaker for the week. Dr. Johnson is the Deputation Director and West Indies Field Director for Macedonia World Baptist Missions in Braselton, GA. He served as a pastor and missionary to Brazil prior to serving in his current capacity. He will be speaking every morning at 10 a.m.
Thirty independent Baptist mission agencies will be on campus throughout the week to promote missions and recruit laborers. Their displays will be set up in the Levin Center, and representatives will be available throughout the day to talk to students.
Missions Prayer Band will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights in the Torrey Auditorium to hear presentations from several mission agencies. After the presentations, the students will go to the Levin Center for refreshments and to meet with representatives.
The ladies will enjoy a Ladies’ Tea with Missionary Mary Ritchie in the Thorsen Center on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. Mrs. Ritchie served with her family in Mongolia before returning to the States where her husband is now Field Director for BIMI. After a time of refreshments and fellowship, she will give a devotional to the ladies.
The final event of the week will be the Missions Banquet in the Levin Center. This year’s menu will feature French cuisine prepared by the cafeteria. After the meal, everyone will meet in the Torrey Auditorium for online chats with alumni on the mission field.
Please pray for this very special week, and remember, you can join us online at 10 a.m. each morning!
